Thank you all for signing up to the massacreindisguise.net newsletter. We'll
do our best (with your help) to keep everyone informed as to what's going on
in the mg world. Comments, suggestions and news submissions are addressed
down below.
This newsletter needs a name! And we want you all to help. Send your
suggestions to
jeff@massacreindisguise.net and we'll post the suggestions
next week, for which we'll have you narrow it down to the top ten
suggestions (if there are more than ten that is), and the week after that,
we'll have you pick the name of the newsletter.
1. Avalanche Release Date?
Word is flying around that Matthew Good's debut solo release, "Avalanche",
will not be released on February 18 as previously announced by
chartattack.com.
Members on the message board at thebrokenrecord.com have
stated (and claimed to have confirmed) March 6, but because that is not a
Tuesday, it is very unlikely. The album may be released the first Tuesday of
March, which would be the 4th, or possibly a week later. Details as to the
actual release date will be published as soon as I can get some
confirmation.
---
2. Bonus Tracks
Taylor, from
thebrokenrecord.com, recently posted that there would be three
bonus tracks, which will be remixes of tracks on the album "Avalanche". It
is currently unknown how the tracks will be available, but they may be
available on the web through a link that will be accessible on a computer
enhanced track on the album.
---
3. A 5.1 Avalanche
Warne Livesey, producer of "Avalanche", (along with the previous three full
length albums from the band) has reported that he's been playing around,
working on alternate mixes of certain tracks (possibly the bonus tracks),
including a 5.1 version of the title track. Visit Warne's website at
http://www.warnelivesey.com
A simple definition of 5.1: music that is designed or encoded to play on a
6-speaker set up. (Left, center, right, rear-left, and rear-right. the
subwoofer is the sixth speaker, and is designated by the ".1" Certain sounds
of a 5.1 encoded track will be designated to certain speakers. 5.1 is also
used on many DVDs.

4. MTV select with Matthew Good
MTV Select (at mtvcanada.com) advertised that last Tuesday they would be
recording, and showing a pre-taped interview with Matthew Good from the set
of his new video. This did not take place, and the interview will be shown
after the video is actually released. Which video matt was filming is
unknown. A representative at MTV Canada also said that there are unconfirmed
reports that they may be featuring Matthew Good on an upcoming show. Any
news concerning appearances on MTV Select will be sent in upcoming
newsletters, on the message board, or on massacreindisguise.net.

5. Weapon on ALIAS
Many people who watched ABC's Alias last week heard matt's recent single
"Weapon" playing near the end of the show.
Thanks to Jen, who sent me this information:
With about 15 minutes to go before the show ended, the beginning note of the
song "Weapon" through these lines were played:
"Here by my side, an angel/here by my side, the devil/never turn your back
on me/never turn your back on me, again/here by my side, it's heaven"
Then a few guitar strings and it faded out. There should be a repeat of the
show in a few weeks.
There was some discussion about the song on the ALIAS message board here:

6. What would you like to see?
What would you like to see in this newsletter? What I'm doing right now is
just taking all the mg-related happenings and putting them all together. If
you have any suggestions, we might be able to do something more. Right now,
the newsletter is sent in text format, because not all people can receive
HTML mail.
You can send comments, suggestions, and news items to me at
jeff@massacreindisguise.net
Please be sure to include your name so we can accurately credit you. Things
you submit may be edited for spelling, and possibly slightly abridged,
though not to harm the actual content.
